Kristen Kearns – MA, MHP

Kristen KearnsKristen holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Art Therapy, and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology from Saint Mary’s University in Minneapolis. Kristen is working towards independent licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Kristen sees clients in the Fridley office.

Kristen works with adult clients, specializing in the geriatric population. Kristen’s interests include intellectual and developmental disabilities, anxiety, depression, LGBT concerns, and art as therapy. Kristen works from a cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavior background, utilizing person centered approaches, relaxation and mindfulness, and narrative therapy.

Kristen’s history includes years as a designated coordinator working with adults and adolescents with intellectual disabilities, providing client directed services and training direct support professionals. Throughout her master’s program Kristen provided intensive in home services through an ARMHS Program (adult rehabilitative mental health services), working with refugees, immigrants, parolees, and individuals with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
